Huntington Has Taste
Charity was in fashion at sold out event attended by oPrime Restaurant on New York Avenue hosted its third annual night of fashion, food and fun, "Huntington Has Taste," on Tuesday, June 8. As the sun set over Huntington Harbor and a cool breeze wafted off the water, more than 350 guests previewed spring and summer's hottest fashions while giving back to the community at large.
According to Genevieve Sloup, President of RSVP Events NY, tickets sold out early and the event raised more than $4,500 for Island Harvest, Long Island's largest hunger relief organization. Based in Mineola, Island Harvest sources out food to 600 member agencies, including 33 food pantries, food kitchens, and food banks in Huntington, which serve, on the average, about 400 meals daily.

“A Toast in Tuscany” is the lyrical name of the Dec. 9 event inaugurating the new “Tuscan farmhouse” dining room at Restaurant Joanina in Huntington, which recently expanded into the former quarters of Renaissance Deli.
The evening, from 7 to 10 p.m., will raise money for new classroom technology at the Jefferson Primary School in Huntington. Festivities include a wine tasting, an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, pasta and other Italian dishes. Prime Hosts Second Annual Huntington Has Taste Event
Prime - An American Kitchen and Bar (117 New York Avenue, Huntington, NY [631] 385-1515 or www.restaurantprime.com) announces it will be the host location for the second annual Huntington Has Taste event on Tuesday, June 23 from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.
Advance tickets are $40 each or $50 at the door. Tickets may be purchased at participating retail outlets or online at www.rsvpeventsny.com or by calling RSVP Events NY at (631) 252-1590.
The night of fashion, food and fun, which in 2008 gathered over 300 guests, is designed to encourage support of Huntington businesses such as hair salons, cosmetics and fashion retailers. Their wares are adorned by models walking down Prime's boardwalk which doubles as a red carpet runway for this event. Guests will enjoy hors d'oeuvres by Prime's Executive Chef Gregg Lauletta to be savored along with views of the sunset over Huntington Harbor from the restaurant's elegant deck, a fashion show, live DJ and gift bags from the area's finest merchants.
